LIFE SUPPORT TECHNOLOGIES III
High-frequency oscillation (HFO) is a ventilatory technique in which very small tidal volumes are delivered at high frequencies (3–15 Hz). It is believed to be ideal for lung protection in acute respiratory distress syndrome. The Webinar will highlight the management HFOV strategy base of frequency approach in pediatric critical care, as well as the updated extracorporeal technique of providing prolonged cardiac and respiratory support to critically ill children, whose heart and lungs are unable to provide an adequate amount of gas exchange or perfusion to sustain life. The ECLS can solve most cases that unsolved with the conventional ventilation.
