CALL FOR ABSTRACT

Guidelines & Submission

To enhance the scientific value of 17th Indonesian PICU NICU Update with the theme “Integrated Care in the Management of Sick Children and Neonates: Improving Survival and Quality of Life with Evidence-Based Strategies” that will be held on 11 – 12 July 2026, The Indonesian PICU NICU Update invites all participants to communicate their research and updates in the field of Neonatology and Pediatric Emergency and Intensive Care in the format of E-Poster Presentation on 11 July 2026.

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION DEADLINE: 15 JUNE 2026

GENERAL REGULATION

  • All abstracts must be original work (Research Study or Case Report) in the field of Neonatology and Pediatric Emergency and Intensive Care.
  • The paper must not have been previously published prior to 17th Indonesian PICU NICU Update 2026
  • The abstracts submission for the same primary Author is limited to 2 (two) abstracts.
  • E-Poster Presentation will be held Offline on 11 July 2026 at Sheraton Grand Gandaria City Jakarta.
  • The presenter must be registered as the participant of Offline symposium 17th Indonesian PICU NICU Update

ABSTRACT PREPARATION GUIDELINES

  1. Abstracts must be typed in English; Arial font size 11pt and single spacing.
  2. The Abstract must not exceed 250 words (excluding the title and author’s information).
  3. Abstract title written in UPPER CASE (Capital Letters)
  4. Authors’ full name shall be written by first name and followed by last name in upper and lower case.
  5. Primary author(s) is the first mentioned. The presenter is Underlined.
  6. Affiliation details in sequence for department, institution/hospital, city/state, country.
  7. Avoid using non-standard abbreviations, unfamiliar terms, symbols, or acronyms not easily understood by general readers. Non-standard abbreviations must be defined in full at their first appearance.
  8. Use generic name of drugs. Express numbers as numerals.
  9. Abstract contains only Text. Any table/graphs/diagrams should NOT be included in the abstract.
  10. References are not obligatory, and the word count is affected by inclusion of references.
  11. The content of Abstracts (Research/Systematic Review/Meta Analysis Study) is four paragraphs that briefly state as follows:
    • BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVE: State concisely why the study was conducted.
    • METHODOLOGY: Indicate the locale, sample number, principal test(s) performed, and the types of statistical analysis employed.
    • RESULT: confirm or refute the hypothesis, supported by statistic if appropriate
    • CONCLUSION: State the effect of the study on future patient management or understanding of basic processes.
  12. Abstract submission is also valid for Case Report with the content of Abstract in three paragraphs that briefly state as follows:
    • BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVE: State concisely why this case is important to report, its novelty, and its clinical implications.
    • CASE: Case description
    • CONCLUSION: A summary of the clinical implications of the case, suggestions for clinical application, precautions to be taken, or topics of further research required.

HOW TO SUBMIT YOUR ABSTRACT

  1. Register as participants in the PICUNICU Update 2026 offline symposium
  2. Participants are encouraged to complete their registration before submitting their Free Paper Abstracts.
  3. Submit your abstract as Microsoft Word attachments and submitted via the “Abstract Submission” page https://www.picunicu.org
  4. Complete the Abstract Presenter data as follows:

* The Participant Registration Number is included on the registration invoice. The registration fee can be paid after the review process and the announcement of abstract acceptance.

ABSTRACT ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

  • Abstract will be first reviewed by the PICUNICU Update Committee upon quality, clarity, and relevance for the audience, as well as the significance of the paper.
  • Acceptance letter of abstracts will be sent to the presenter email along with the E-Poster Preparation Guidelines no later than 20 June 2026. The E-Poster PDF should be submitted not later than 01 July 2026.
  • The E-Poster presentation schedule will be notified later after the PDF E-Poster submission is completed.

WITHDRAWAL / CHANGES

  • Abstract is allowed to be edited for one time only.
  • The edited Abstract should be emailed to freepaper@geoconvex.com with the subject [PICUNICU 2026] Revised Abstract (Presenter Name) at the latest before 15 June 2026.
  • Withdrawal/changes will not be possible after the above-mentioned date.
  • Automatic cancellation will be made when the registration payment is not completed by 30 June 2026.

PUBLICATION

  • The presenting author must be a registrant of PICUNICU Update offline symposium to ensure their abstract(s) is included in the final program. Uncomplete registration will cause the disqualification of the abstract and will not be published accordingly. Registration payment deadline is 10 June 2026.
  • Submission of abstract acknowledges the acceptance for abstract to be published in official conference publications.
  • The committee reserves the right to edit the abstract format for uniformity regarding publication.

BEST FREE PAPER PRESENTATIONS

  • All participants submitting free paper abstracts will receive a Certificate of Participation.
  • All E-Posters will be evaluated by a Panel of Juries according to the scheduled sessions.
  • The result of winning presentations will be formally announced at closing remark on Sunday, 12 July 2026. The Best Presenters will be further contacted by the Secretariat.
  • The best E-Poster Presentation in each category will be rewarded with cash prizes and a winner certificate.

    E-Poster presenters are required to register as participants of the 17th Indonesian PICU NICU Update in Conjunction with PIT 3 Terpadu PERPEDSI 2026 and obtain a registration number, which can be found on the registration invoice. Incomplete registration payment by the specified deadline may result in disqualification from the E-Poster presentation.

    All accepted E-Posters will be displayed during the 17th Indonesian PICU NICU Update in Conjunction with PIT 3 Terpadu PERPEDSI 2026, held on July 11–12, 2026, at Sheraton Grand Jakarta Gandaria City Hotel, Jakarta, Indonesia.
