The Workshop – organized by Pediatric Emergency and Critical Care/Indonesian Pediatric Society – aims to provide the updated concept of mechanical ventilation in critically ill infants and children from basic physiology to clinical application. The workshops will learn to assess the effectiveness of ventilation support in critically ill infants and children; how to examine the predictors to improve the clinical outcome of invasive mechanical ventilation (IMV).

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

• Understand the mechanics of respiration and the working principle of a ventilator
• Understand the basic parameters of mechanical ventilation and able to perform initial settings
• Understand the ventilator waves and modes.
• Understand and monitor and observe machine-patient interactions
• Understand and manage PEEP titration
• Understand and manage lung ultrasound
• Understand the weaning techniques
