FOREWORD

Chairman of 17th Indonesian PICU NICU Update 2026

Dear Colleagues,

In an era where healthcare advances are defined by collaboration and innovation, the 17th Indonesian PICU NICU Update in conjunction with PIT 3 Terpadu PERPEDSI 2026, held at the Sheraton Grand Jakarta Gandaria City Hotel, Jakarta, Indonesia, from July 9 to July 14, 2026 – stands as a vital forum for shared learning and multidisciplinary growth.

Organized annually in collaboration with the Pediatric Emergency and Intensive Care & Neonatology Working Group/Indonesian Pediatric Society, and supported by the Indonesian Pediatric Society DKI Jakarta Chapter, this year’s theme “Integrated Care in the Management of Sick Children and Neonates: Improving Survival and Quality of Life with Evidence-Based Strategies”, we are fostering collaboration with PERPEDSI (Perkumpulan Pediatric Surgeon Indonesia), reflects our collective commitment to transform the challenges of critical care into opportunities for better outcomes. It underscores the essential role of interdisciplinary synergy—where Neonatologists, Pediatric Intensivists; Surgeons, and Anaesthesiologists unite in a common mission to deliver holistic, evidence-based, and compassionate care.

Through this meeting, we aim not only to update scientific knowledge but also to foster collaborative problem-solving that bridges diverse clinical perspectives. By sharing data, refining protocols, and integrating expertise, we move closer to our shared vision: ensuring that every child and neonate receives the highest standard of care—timely, effective, and patient’s safety.

We extend our deepest gratitude to all distinguished speakers, participants, and sponsors who continue to support this academic journey. May this hybrid forum spark meaningful exchanges, inspire innovation, and strengthen our professional community for the benefit of children across Indonesia and beyond.

Warm regards,

dr. Abdul Latief, Sp.A(K)
