Pulmonary issues including mechanical ventilation and pediatric respiratory disease are the focus of this Webinar. The respiratory system is unique in that it is constantly exposed to a barrage of foreign substances from both the internal and external environment. Respiratory monitoring is important in the care of children with acute respiratory failure, which will be highlighted thoroughly from respiratory pathophysiology in critically ill children to its clinical application. Nevertheless, many diseases affect the pediatric respiratory system, there’s a large number of whom are not associated with acute respiratory failure, such as Bronchiolitis and Pneumonia, thus the Webinar will review the management of both mentioned diseases. The webinar will also review the molecular biology of lung injury to guide early adjunctive therapy use in pediatric acute respiratory distress syndrome (PARDS) upon PALISI network.
